I needed a simple to install, simple to use product, to combat incessant flies coming in through our upstairs balcony in Brisbane. The door being open is essential for the all important breeze, but the flies were unwelcome. Magnetic options were not ideal, and traditional fly screen mesh blocks the breeze. Amazingly, the dangling chains block no breeze, do not block the view much as the loops in the chain are quite open, and not a single fly!!! And I can just unhook it and take it down if I do not want it there all the time. Also amazingly, this product was delivered in just a few days, in the days before Christmas. Tick, tick, tick. Highly recommend the product and company for prompt service.
I have ordered 3 screens from the magnetic door company. They are on the outside of my house and I leave them up all summer. They last about 2 years with the wear and tear but I would recommend them - they keep the mosquitos and flies out and are simple to use and do not detract from my view

Black and white. The 60cm x 180cm caravan/RV option is black only; the selector shows the available colour and size combinations.
What sizes are available?
There are 23 colour/size combinations. Widths run from 60cm to 180cm and heights are 180cm, 210cm or 240cm, depending on the option.
How should I measure?
Measure the opening and the usable mounting surface around it. Compare both dimensions with the sizing illustration and the full screen size before ordering.
Can I request a custom size?
Yes. Send your width, height and frame details through the custom-size enquiry page. A quote and suitability confirmation are needed before ordering.
Can I trim a standard screen?
Ask the team before cutting. Trimming can remove reinforced edges or damage the magnetic seam, so a custom-size enquiry is the better starting point when standard sizes do not fit.
How is it fitted?
The screen attaches around the door frame using the supplied self-adhesive hook-and-loop tape. Follow the instructions supplied with your screen.
Does installation require drilling?
The adhesive fitting method does not require drilling. Check the supplied kit and instructions for any optional reinforcement and whether it suits your frame.
Will adhesive leave a mark?
Adhesive can affect some paint or finishes. Check the frame condition, test a small area and seek the property owner’s permission where necessary.
Can pets use the doorway?
Pets can push through the centre opening, but may need supervision and familiarisation. The screen is not a pet-containment barrier.
Is this a security screen?
No. It is an insect screen for an open doorway, not a security door, child barrier or fall-prevention screen.
Can it be used on a sliding door?
It may suit the opening beside a sliding door if the screen dimensions and mounting surface fit and the moving door clears the screen.

Will it stay closed in strong wind?
Strong draughts can separate a magnetic seam. Check that the screen hangs freely and choose a position suited to the conditions.

A mesh screen that closes behind you
This screen uses reinforced mesh with sewn-in magnets down the middle. The two panels part as you pass through and come together afterwards, helping reduce insects entering an open doorway while letting air through. Performance depends on the fit, the mesh condition and draughts; it is not an airtight or insect-proof seal.
Choose the full screen size
The selector offers 23 combinations: 12 black and 11 white. The black 60 × 180cm option is listed for caravans and RVs. Other widths are 80, 90, 120, 140, 160 and 180cm, with 210 or 240cm heights where offered. Measure both the opening and the flat frame space for fixing. Sliding, French and double doors can be suitable only when those measurements and the moving door clearances work.
Fitting and everyday use
Clean and dry a suitable frame surface before using the supplied self-adhesive hook-and-loop fixing. Follow the instructions, start with a level top edge and leave the centre panels hanging freely. Avoid stretching the mesh so tightly that the magnets cannot meet. Test the adhesive on a discreet area because some paint and finishes can mark. Children and pets can pass through, but the screen does not contain them or provide security or fall protection.
What to compare before buying
Look at the border reinforcement, the magnetic closure, the fixing method, the full dimensions and how the screen can be removed for cleaning.
